How in the world did I forget it was Valentine’s Day this week? I didn’t take that into account when I made my dinner menu for the week so things got a little wonky but I tried my best to stick to it as closely as possible! I will share some of the meals I made either tomorrow or Sunday. We all know with V-Day comes chocolate and candy and I swear every person I walked by yesterday had the intention to sabotage my “eat clean because you might be going to Vegas in March” plan. I won’t lie, I gave in. More than once. I lack that little thing called self-control, especially when people give me things.
A student went to the cafeteria during class and bought be a funfetti cupcake at the Valentine’s Day Bake Sale that was going on. It really was the cutest thing ever and I could not bring myself to say no. It was delicious too.
Then my mom gives me one of my favourite things ever – a chocolate and caramel-covered candy apple. These are probably the best things in existence and all I ever need in life.
Yes, I needed a cutting board and chef’s knife to cut it. There was no way I was going to bite down on that thing. We all know that I have a history of tooth pieces falling out.
To top it off, Dean took me to an Italian restaurant for dinner and I ordered the cheesiest, creamiest pasta that I can’t even post a picture of because you literally cannot even see it. The pasta was swimming in sauce. Swimming in water so deep that I needed three slices of soft white bread to sop up the remainder.
It’s safe to say that I don’t plan on eating like that for a very long time. I woke up with the worst stomach cramps and the biggest sugar high. I did, however, power me through one of the best workouts I’ve had in a long time. It was week five, day three of James Wilson’s Body Earned program that I’m on and I set some sweet PR’s. Before I started my workout I told myself, “today you are going to lift heavier than you think you can.” As crazy as it sounds, it worked. I couldn’t hit 12 reps for some of the exercises but then I just went to the next weight down and finished my set. I was shaking like a leaf by the end and my entire upper body was on fire. It felt reeeeeeal nice.
