Just like that, another week of training in the books! Last week looked a lot like the week before. We are still in base-building mode over here and I’m enjoying it while it lasts. I know that the hard workouts are coming so I’m okay with running easy for now!
Tuesday: 4 mile recovery run @ 9:25 min/mile
Thursday: 5 mile easy run @ 8:38 min/mile
Friday: 4 mile recovery run @ 8:51 min/mile
Saturday: 40 minutes on the elliptical + 20 minutes of light strength training
Sunday: 8 mile long run @ 9:12 min/mile
TOTAL: 21 MILES / 33 kilometres
I’m kind of in this place where I don’t feel like I’m doing enough. Like I should be doing something on all of my rest days or maybe even running more. I know it sounds silly because increasing my mileage too fast will probably leave me injured, exhausted and miserable…but still. Just feeling like I’m not moving enough. I did (surprisingly) enjoy my elliptical session on Saturday and actually ended up breaking a crazy sweat. It’s a pretty decent, low-impact workout that I’ll most likely turn to once or twice a week when I’m feeling antsy.
This upcoming weekend is a long weekend and I am finally ready to get on my bike. It was a goal for April but I was waiting on some things I “needed”…plus the weather has been kind of gross. No excuses now though! I have everything I need so it’s just a matter of jumping on that bike and hopefully not falling while I learn how to clip in and out.
