I started my blog in April of 2011 but unfortunately my first two months of posts got deleted when I made the switch over from Blogger to a self-hosted site. I don’t remember exactly what my first post said but I know it was titled “Making Dreams Happen”. I had been reading and following blogs for months, becoming inspired and motivated to try new and exciting things in terms of fitness and nutrition. One of my dreams was (and still is) to become an inspiration to people through my website.
I started my blog as a vegan runner wanting to learn more about plant-based diets and marathons. I had run a 10K, two half marathons, and one full marathon before the “birth” of my blog.
I experienced a pretty bad injury (PFS) during training for my full marathon (in 2010) which hindered my time and performance, but it was still one of the greatest experiences of my life. Since then, I have learned a lot from the online community in regards to running, injury prevention, and dealing with setbacks.
I don’t think I would consider myself a vegan runner anymore. A lot of things have changed and I have evolved as a person and as an athlete. I still eat a lot of plant-based foods, but I eat other things too. I still run, but my interest in other forms of fitness has expanded. I’m a little bit of everything now so you will just have to keep reading to find out where I’m headed next!
Thanks for reading my unofficial first post!
