So I went from talking about how running took a backseat in my last post and then all of a sudden, I blazed through a week with no days off from exercise. It wasn’t planned and I’m not quite sure how that happened but hey, I’ll take good weeks when they come and embrace the off weeks too! I didn’t really follow my “plan” (didn’t get my long run in) mostly because we had a huge snowstorm on Sunday and I could only manage 6.5 miles before I called it quits.
Monday: 3.1 miles
Tuesday: 5 treadmill miles
Thursday: 5 treadmill miles
Friday: 50 minute spin class at SpinCo
Saturday: 6.25 miles
Sunday: 6.5 snowstorm miles
TOTAL: 32.1 miles / 51.6 kilometres
Not quite as high as my mileage should be but that’s okay. I’m super happy with how my week went and I had some really great runs. The last few days have been packed with all kinds of food and activities too so that was pretty nice. We celebrated Valentine’s Day on Monday with massages at the Four Seasons in the morning, shopping in the afternoon (J. Crew was having 30% off!) and then Greek food for dinner at Mezes on the Danforth. It was SO GOOD and we ate way more than we should have. The server kept coming by and saying how impressed he was. He even asked if he should bring us an entire lamb to eat too. No sir, I am a vegetarian! I’ll take more spanakopita though… 😉
Yesterday I had 14 kilometres to run but I ended up falling asleep after work and not waking up until 11:30pm. FAIL. Nothing like starting the week with two rest days in a row! Tonight I have dinner plans (my grandmother’s 91st birthday!) but hoping to squeeze a run in before or after the festivities. See? Sometimes there are weeks where you have time to sweat daily and sometimes you get massages, take really long naps and go out for dinner instead.
Hope you had a great Valentine’s Day!
