So…Tuesday was judgment day for all of those people who entered their name into the Chicago Marathon lottery. All morning and afternoon, my runner friends from around the world were posting about their acceptance and excitement. I waited and waited all day for my email and…nothing. Not even a rejection. I didn’t even think people got rejected from Chicago but my friend Jordan got one of those dreaded “I’m sorry” emails. Really?? I figured if he got one, I was getting one as well…it was just a matter of time. 24 hours passed and I still didn’t get anything. Yes, I checked my junk mail and nope, there was nothing there. I sent an email to inquire about my status but just got an automatic response saying “due to the high volume of emails, blah blah blah.” I dismissed the idea of running Chicago pretty quickly and started to think of other potential fall races, until yesterday morning when I received this:
WHAT?! Two days late. I really don’t understand it but I am not going to complain! I’ll be running my second World Major and I cannot wait! Anyone else going??
I also wanted to talk a little bit about my relationship with Sport Chek. I’ve done some sponsored blog posts for them over the last few months and you’ve probably noticed several Instagram posts with the hashtag #SweatBetter. I am continuing my Ambassadorship with them and over the next few months I hope I can help inspire and motivate some of you to Sweat Better during the winter season. Sport Chek has been such a great company to work with and so supportive of me and my goals so I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity!
To kick off my partnership and to say thank you to my readers, we are giving away a $100 gift card for the holidays! Why not keep the giveaways rolling this week, right?!
Just leave me a comment below telling me one way you plan to #SweatBetter this season! Alternatively, you can share one of your big fitness/running-related goals for 2017. That’s it!
A winner will be chosen at random and announced next Thursday, December 22nd. Giveaway open to Canadian residents only. Good luck!
