So I used to share a lot more randomness on here – life stuff, daily happenings, all that jazz. I don’t do those posts quite as often anymore but it’s kind of fun to do journal-type entries once in a while. Give you guys a glimpse into my super exciting life, you know? 😉 So here we go. An unfiltered look at my Tuesday.
Yesterday was actually a pretty great day. I had a super easy day at work, plus it’s spirit week at school so I got to dress a little more cozy than usual. You know what that means – sneakers FTW. Went with my adidas NMDs that I finally got my hands on a few weeks ago and I am in l o v e.
Had some leftover stirfry for lunch. I just added frozen veggies to some brown rice and tofu that I had already prepped. For the sauce, I went with the one Minimalist Baker uses in this recipe. It’s sooo good and super quick to put together.
I finished work a little early so I was able to get my 4 recovery miles in, go to the post office, shower, and head over to my boyfriend’s place before he got home from work.
Once he got home, we walked over to the barber shop so that he could get a haircut and I went to the grocery store next-door to pick up some goods for dinner while I waited for him. He came out looking even more handsome than usual. How that is even possible, I do not know.
He requested a “fun” salad for dinner and I think I nailed it: mixed greens, celery, cucumber, apples, strawberries, avocado, feta cheese, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, olive oil/rosemary croutons and a balsamic dressing. I didn’t get even a half decent photo of it but it was delicious.
We attempted to watch Burn After Reading (has anyone seen it??) but I fell asleep halfway through. The same thing happened last week when we tried watching Rogue One. I do stay up long enough to eat some ketchup chips though and that’s all that really matters, AM I RIGHT?
So there you have it! This is what a lot of my weekdays look like and I can’t complain.
Side note: My body feels absolutely trashed from Sunday’s workout. I went to a circuit training/HIIT class courtesy of Myodetox and Samsung Canada on Sunday and I did not expect it to leave me this sore. The lower half of my body feels like I just ran a marathon – I’m not even exaggerating. I’m walking with a limp and going up and down the stairs is a huge challenge so you can just imagine how difficult it was to run yesterday. Thank goodness it was an easy recovery run. It just goes to show that no matter how much running you do, other workouts will serve as an awesome reminder that you are not as fit as you think you are! Probably a sign that I should add a little strength training on my off days…or something like that.
I don’t have a workout planned for today so I’m hoping the rest will allow my body to (finally) fully recover. 5 miles on tap for tomorrow!
