Well, here we are. The end of March and quite possibly the craziest month ever. I just realized I only blogged five times this month. FIVE! I guess that’s what happens when you are crazy busy while also trying to figure out how to function because your body just wants to be in bed for 31 days.
Currently drinking: Back in ginger ale mode because I am a walking virus and this is the only thing I want to drink when I’m sick.
Currently eating: FETA. Sooo much feta. We’ve been eating Greek salads almost daily so I think I’m going to have to start buying those enormous buckets from Costco. Never in my life did I think I’d ever be buyng cheese by the bucket.
Currently working on: Not being so hard on myself. I had a bit of a meltdown last week because I hates what I looked like in a photo. HATED. I let it ruin my day for a few minutes…okay, maybe hours. I eventually snapped out of it and went on with my day but I want to make an effort to be kinder to myself. I know we all have good days and bad days. I’m just looking to minimize the number of bad days. Why are we so critical of ourselves?? Or maybe it’s just me. I hate it and am making a promise to give myself more compliments than criticisms moving forward.
Currently reading: The Woman in Cabin 10. I don’t know what it is about suspenseful thrillers but I cannot get enough!
Currently obsessed with: This BOSE Bluetooth speaker that I was surprised with last week The sound is amazing and it’s so cute and tiny. It took only minutes to set up and we just use Spotify on our phones/iPad. The battery life is also amazing so I can bring it from room to room without worrying about it dying.
Favourite photo from March: I think I’ll have to go with this one from Monday. I took the day off from work because I got sick (again) and didn’t think I’d be feel well enough to go in. I woke up feeling a tiny bit better than I thought…so I stayed home for the morning and then escaped the confines of my own home to go downtown in the afternoon. Veggie burgers, fries, warm chocolate chip cookies, and a pit stop at adidas. I meeeaaannn…no better way to do Monday. Guys, please pray that I don’t get sick in April. I am so done with it.
Coolest experience in March: Branching out of my comfort zone and participating in some group workouts was really cool. I got to do a Reebok Crossfit workout earlier this month and on Wednesday I checked out Orangetheory Fitness (I’ll talk about this next week). It’s always good to switch things up. Without any big run goals (until Chicago), I find it’s easy to get bored because I don’t have anything to focus on and no training plan to follow. Attending a group fitness class once a week or doing my own HIIT keeps things interesting and breaks up the monotony of running.
Best thing on the Internet in March: A lot of people shared this video on Facebook over the last few days and it’s pretty incredible. Runners are some pretty great humans, don’t you think?
March mileage: Let’s not even talk about this one, okay? I was out of commission for most of the month and although it’s frustrating, it also motivates me to have a better April.
