Here we go! Another coffee date, where I get share a little bit about last month’s happenings. Thanks again to Jess for inspiring this mew monthly series! 😉
Currently drinking: Sparkling water! I recently received a Healthy Hydration Kit which included a SodaStream and it has made drinking water a little more exciting around here. I’m already terrible at drinking enough water and the cold winter months makes it even harder for me. I don’t even take water with me on my long runs because I’m so cold and don’t feel like I “need” it. Then I come home and feel like I’m going to collapse because I’m so dehydrated. Anyway, I’m working on that. The SodaStream fancifies (that is definitely not a word) my water and I am depending on it to keep me on track.
Currently eating: I don’t even know what to tell you here because I am literally eating everything these days. I forgot how hungry marathon training makes me and I totally feel like a human vacuum. I have the appetite of a football player and it became pretty clear a couple of weeks ago on date night. We went to Mamaka’s Taverna here in Toronto and I swear I consumed more food than anyone else in the restaurant. If there’s one thing that you should eat when you are there, it’s the spanakopita. You’re welcome.
Currently reading: Long Road to Boston by Mark Sutcliffe. Jonathan lent me this book a couple of weeks ago and I am really enjoying it. There are some days where I need that extra bit of inspiration and motivation – and this book does just that.
Currently obsessed with: Princeton. I’m actually obsessed with him all the time but he hasn’t made an appearance on here in a while so here ya go –
Favourite photo I took this month: I technically didn’t take it but this is my favourite photo from January –
Coolest experience in January: I don’t know about “cool” experiences, but there have definitely been a lot of memorable ones. This was a really great month and I’ll eventually talk about all the things that have been happening!
Best thing on the Internet in January: This I Hate Running article that Nick shared on Facebook last week. Seriously – go have a read. It is so accurate! It was hard to choose just one snippet to share on here –
January’s mileage: 148.1 MILES (238.3 KILOMETRES)! I am extremely happy with this. I’m pretty surprised as I usually hover around the 100-125 mile range but I went into 2017 full force. My long runs are already loooong, though a bit slower than I’d like. I’m getting the distance in and now I just need to make sure I keep up with the speed workouts as best as I can. I’m excited for February! Hoping I progress a little in the speed department.
What was the best part about your January??
HAVE AN AMAZING DAY!
