So I found it a little bit ironic that after I wrote this post, my Mizuno fairy came to visit. Tip #5 was to get the right equipment to prepare you for the cooler temps and it looks like I am set.
Awkward pose award goes to…me.
I got a size small in everything (I know some people might ask!) and most pieces fit perfect. A couple of the shirts fit a bit bigger but I prefer them like that because I can layer them on top of a tank if necessary without everything feeling so tight. I personally don’t like things super tight because it makes me uncomfortable when I run so the smalls were perfect for the most part.
The accessories are all awesome. My personal favourites are the thermal arm warmers and calf sleeves. I can be the slowest runner ever but if I am wearing these it doesn’t even matter. As long as you look elite, you’re fine. The toque is the cutest too. I am used to wearing headbands in the cold but I am in love with the idea of a winter hat. The only thing is that it is unisex so it doesn’t have a ponytail hole so I will have to figure out what to do with my mane.
We got a weird heat streak here in Toronto but as soon as the weather cools off and I get to wear these clothes running, I’ll be able to talk more about how they feel and what I like/dislike.
Mizuno also hooked me up with a new pair of trail shoes – the Wave Ascend 8 – for my upcoming trip to Arizona!
Emily and I will be running in Sedona and she told me that I apparently “need” trail shoes so I think these will be perfect!! I am in love with the colour combo and they kind of make me want to convert into a trail runner. The coolest thing is that they hooked up Emily too so now we can be twins when we run. You might not even be able to tell us apart except that she is five inches taller than me and blonde…and can also run twice as fast. But let’s not get into details because that’s not important.
So I think I’m ready for the cold. And for AZ. Eight more days, yo.
P.S. This is my new favourite drink that I posted to IG earlier:
I woke up not feeling that great and didn’t want my usual oats so I threw this together and it came out fantastic. I prefer tart smoothies so the sour apple and the lemon juice really did the trick. Green juice and some Princeton snuggles made for a better feeling ME. But really, this juice is going to be a regular for me. It was THAT good. Oh and I later found out it’s National Kale day?? How do people come up with these things? I’ll always be ready for this day because I eat kale nearly every day!
Is there something you eat ever day and never get tired of?
Tell me your workout today! I had to miss mine because of my wonky stomach.
