Thanks for all of the comments on my mega vegan pancake! I am so happy to hear that some people have already tried it and loved it as much as me!! Today I just wanted to talk about battling sugar cravings. This is coming at the perfect time because I have a wedding to go to tonight and I am sure there are going to be a lot of goodies around that are going to be difficult to resist. I don’t know about you, but I have a really hard time turning down cookies or cake, especially when chocolate is involved!! The Eat Clean Diet team put together this really cool flow chart to suggest different ways to battle cravings:

A lot of the things in the above chart actually work for me! Getting active is a good one. If I am having a stellar day in terms of workouts, I don’t want to ruin it with poor diet choices, especially sugar. We all know we can’t outdo a bad diet with exercise! Drinking tea also works wonders. If you have access to a specialty tea shop, I would suggest checking it out and getting some fun loose leaf teas. I get mine from David’s Tea and am so excited to try some of the new flavours I bought:
The fact that these flavours even exist blows my mind. I’m sure with a little splash of almond or coconut milk and a couple drops of stevia, these teas will be almost like the real thing! Almost.
We are one week in and there are only three weeks to go!! For me, the cravings usually happen during the first week or so but it does tend to get easier as time goes on. Think before you cave and reach for something sweet. Distract yourself, go for a walk, drink some tea, or call me! 😉 I know I will be thinking of all of you while I sit at the table tonight watching everyone else stuffing their faces with cake while I sip my tea!
