The long weekend is finally here (for us Canadians, at least!)! I don’t know about you but I find it very easy to get off track on long weekends and special occasions, especially in the summertime. I often try to justify it with the whole “back on track on Monday” thing but that’s starting to get old. Lucky for me (and you!), The Eat Clean Diet has a fantastic recipe to make you feel like you are indulging in a guilty treat (Tosca posted it on her blog yesterday). It’s a big fat TRICK though! These protein smoothie popsicles should make you feel anything but guilty!
Very few ingredients, all of which I can pronounce – just the way I like it! What I love about this recipe is that you can tweak it and get creative. For all my American friends, how fun would it be to make blue (with blueberries), white (with bananas?), and red (with strawberries) ones for the Fourth of July?! If you don’t have agave on hand you can always use a different sweetener like stevia, honey, even maple syrup!…or skip the sweetener all together if you don’t like your treats super sweet!
I had some frozen mangoes and a banana on hand so I altered the recipe a bit. They came out delicious! They are super creamy, fruity, and delicious. I can’t wait to try out some other flavours and share them this weekend.
This recipe comes from The Eat Clean Diet Family and Kids book which you can preview here.
