Today was supposed to be a rest day. I’m usually really good at taking rest days. Since I wake up at 4:30am to get my workouts in before work, I cherish those days when I get to sleep in until 6:00am! I have noticed that my days at work run so much more smoothly when I workout in the morning though. I also have been missing my cardio. As much as I love James Wilson’s program (I think he’s converted me into a weights girl), sometimes I feel like I just want to zone out and do a nice solid and sweaty cardio session. So that’s exactly what I did this morning! I broke the rules and got my sweat on.
20 minutes on the stairmill and 20 minutes on the TM (15 minutes of sprints, 5 minutes walking) made a beautiful start to my morning. There’s nothing like endorphins to make you feel like a superhero for the rest of your day!
I refuelled with my new favourite smoothie. I am obsessed with VEGA’s energizing smoothie (previously called shake-and-go). It’s one of the few vegan proteins I’ve tried that doesn’t taste like grass.
This is an old photo but I had the exact same smoothie this morning. In the mix: one scoop VEGA energizing smoothie (in bodacious berry), frozen mixed berries, huge handful of spinach, and about a cup of almond milk. It turns into an amazing deep shade of purple, which makes the smoothie that much more enjoyable to drink! Food just tastes better when it looks pretty, don’t you think?
I also wanted to tell you all that I loved you input on yesterday’s post! I am excited about these changes and can’t wait to share what I learn with you.
